The Iron Max Series: These Maintenance-Free systems are completely chemical and salt free. In other words they do not require salt pellets or chemicals for backwashing. Designed to filter high levels of Ferrous (clear water iron), Ferric (red/orange as drawn), Manganese (black staining), Hydrogen Sulfide Gas (rotten egg odor), and Suspended Solids (solid particles suspended in water) to provide quality drinking water. Our Iron Max Series use NSF Approved Certified 61 filtration media.

Filter IRON without salt ! Traditional water softeners use salt for regeneration. The Iron Max whole house iron removal system uses no salt or chemicals to provide Cleaner Laundry, Cleaner kitchen, More Functional and Efficient Plumbing and Appliances, and Cleaner Bathrooms. Iron, manganese staining and discoloring are eliminated as the iron and manganese are removed. Hydrogen sulfide gas "rotten egg odor" and suspended solids are filtered to provide tastier drinking water, as with coffee, juice, soups, tea, and ice.

The Iron Max Series complies to all statewide brine discharge restrictions as it does not use salt or discharge brine to filter iron, rust, manganese and hydrogen sulfide gas. Perfect for those that have septic tanks.

This is a self-backwashing system that automatically removes the trapped particles within the filter bed and washes them down the drain. This is accomplished with the electronic control valve that is mounted on top of the Iron Max. This valve is controlled by a timer, that on a regular interval, initiates the backwash cycle that cleans the bed of filtration media and resets it for the next period of filtration. Our Iron Max includes a user friendly Digital Control Valve The Highest Quality Control Valve Available On The Market Today! Nearly All Of Our Competitors Still Offer An Older Mechanical (dial) Version Of This New Modernized Control Valve.

The system connects to the well water main line of your home and filters all the incoming water to your home. It requires a nearby power outlet for the control valve.

The filtration media used is a mixed blend of state of the art high capacity filtration media. This blend of high capacity filtration media is designed for hydrogen sulfide gas "rotten egg odor", iron, rust and manganese removal.

How The Iron Max Well Water System Works

What is your product used for?

The Iron Max system has several uses. It is primarily used for well water residential applications where superior water is desired for both taste and functional use. It is also used for commercial applications where iron prevention is required, applications such as; whole house, business, irrigation, pre-treatment, Reverse Osmosis pre-treatment, etc.

What is special about the Iron Max?

The Iron Max is unique in the following ways:
1. Only one piece of equipment is needed for multiple water problems. This actually can create an overall cost savings.
2. Iron, Manganese & Hydrogen Sulfide (rotten egg smell) problems that often require the use of chemicals such as potassium permanganate or chlorine, are eliminated which means no chemicals to handle, store, or purchase.
3. The existence of local bans on salt based water equipment is not an issue with this system. No objectionable chlorides are dispensed into the drain system. The drain water from the Iron Max is safe for your septic, plants, etc..

What is so important about not using chemicals or sodium in treating the water?

1. You are not spending money on them.
2. You are not drinking or ingesting them in part or in whole.
3. You are not adding to the pollution of the water supplies.

Is there any routine maintenance involved with the Iron Max

No, The Iron Max is considered a maintenance free whole house water filter. There are no routine filters to replace and requires no chemicals. The Iron Max will filter and clarify your water by filtering iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide gas, and suspended solids in the water. It will also improve the taste & odor of your water. The filtration media will need to be exchanged approximately every 8 to 10 years*. This is easily accomplished with the use of a wet & dry vacuum which you use to vacuum out the old filtration media from the top of the filter. You then replace it with a new bed of filtration media which will last approximately another 8 to 10 years*. This is the only maintenance that the system will require. * Some applications may require a more frequent replacement interval. The Iron Max will not treat iron bacteria or sulfur reducing bacteria. If these bacteria's are present you will need to chlorinate your well to prevent any iron bacteria or sulfur reducing bacteria from passing through the Iron Max well water filter. Your instructions will include easy to follow well chlorination instructions and detailed information on iron bacteria.

If the Iron Max does not use chemicals or sodium, what does it use?

Just water is needed for backwashing! The Iron Max creates filtered water at every tap - it does not add anything to your water. The Iron Max System will oxidize and absorb iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide gas from your water and trap it within the filter. Approximately every 7-10 days*, the automatic control valve will initiate a backwash cycle for approximately 20 minutes and rinse the trapped particles down a drain or elsewhere. The system will then automatically re-set itself to backwash for another 7-10 days*. * Some applications may require a more frequent backwash interval.

How much water does it use?

Not much. It will use approximately 50 gallons once per week to automatically backwash itself. Larger Iron Max systems will use more water for backwashing. This backwashing process lifts away all the suspended particles that have been captured in the filter bed and washes them down the drain. These suspended particles naturally occur in water so you are not introducing an objectionable foreign substance back into the water supply.

How much iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide gas will the Iron Max filter?

The Iron Max-125 will filter high levels of Ferrous and Ferric Iron up to 15ppm (mg/L), Manganese up to 6ppm (mg/L) Hydrogen Sulfide Gas up to 4ppm (mg/L) as well as unpleasant tastes and odors. The Iron Max will not treat iron bacteria, sulfur reducing bacteria, colloidal iron, or organic iron. If these bacteria's are present you will need to chlorinate your well to prevent any iron bacteria or sulfur reducing bacteria from passing through the Iron Max well water filter. Your instructions will include easy to follow well chlorination instructions and detailed information on iron bacteria.

How do I have my water tested?

We offer a free water analysis program. This program is designed to help our customers choose the best RainDance Water Systems products for their water chemistry. We encourage all customers to take advantage of our Free Water Testing Program before any purchases. We also offer free water testing after your RainDance Water Systems purchase. We recommend customers send water samples in at least once a year. Our tech's can then inform you of how well your system is performing.
